BMW M8 GTE – The Legend Returns

The BMW M8 will make its racing debut in January at the 24 hours of Daytona in 2018.

After a 3 day testing period which appears to have been successful.

“The BMW M8 GTE is our new GT flagship and will go head to head with the strong opposition in this sector,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.

The close link between production and motor racing is one of the cornerstones of the development of the BMW M8 GTE.

Cylinder Heads borrowed from the production car will be used in the Racing Car.

The 4.0 litre 500 Horsepower Car is paired to a Sequential Six-Speed Gearbox with Electric paddle shifters and a Sachs carbon-fiber clutch.

The BMW M8 GTE is set to revive the successful history of BMW at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2018.

Going against the Dominate Corvette C7.R and Ford GT it will face fierce competition.
