2019 McLaren BP23 – The Successor the to the Legendary McLaren P1
When the McLaren P1 was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show it sent shockwaves thru the industry with 903 Horsepower sent to the rear wheels in conjunction with an Electric Motor that had a range of 6.8 miles.
With the last of 375 Mclaren P1s being built in December 2015, many have been wondering what they have planned as its next Successor.
The development of a car codenamed BP23 has been confirmed by McLaren with a limited production run of only 106 units.
It will be featuring three seats with passengers sitting slightly behind the driver like in the McLaren F1
CEO Mike Flewitt Commented on the car saying
“It will be housed in a streamlined, shrink-wrapped carbon fiber body of great elegance.”
A hybrid powertrain will make it the most powerful McLarens ever built.
Production is expected to start in early 2019 and end when all cars are built.
Mike Flewitt says to expect high levels of performance and driver engagement.
We suspect this car will have a unique driving experience like most McLarens.
Further details of the car’s specifications will be released as we near the launch date.
